So, yesterday, i noticed that my computer was running really slowly, and locking up, and explorer.exe was crashing and was always at 100%. Anyway, so i did all the normal stuff, like virus/spyware/cleanup and such. No viruses or anything. So, i shut it down for the night, and when i came back today, i get a bluescreen on bootup that says "Inaccessible Boot Device"
I know from experience that seeing that screen is never a very good sign......
So, I tried safemode, no. Then, after i struggled to get to the recovery console, i was able to do chkdsk /r on the disk. Then, when i restarted, booted normally, and everything is fine right now.
The only weird thing i noticed was when i decided to do a disk defragment. There it showed 2 volumes, although i only have one.
One says "Main" (my volume label). And the other one says "Main (C: )"
the one with just the volume label has a different percentage of free space as the other one. Before defragging, the both looked the same in the analysis thing.
Then, after i ran it, and analysed the both, they had both been defragmented, but "Main" drive was different than the "Main (C: )" drive.
When I tried to defrag the "Main" drive, it says "Disk Defragmenter has detected that chkdsk is scheduled to run on the volue: Main. Please run chkdsk /f."
Oh yeah, and only one drive is listed in Disk management.
Anyway, just wondering what the hell is going on, and if i should be really concerned about this, and what should i do?
Thanks a lot
