ALright everytime I install Win98SE i get a Windows Error that says Windows Registry Error Windows Must Restart...I GET THIS ON EVEY BOOT so its like an endless cycle of rebooting...I installed Win2k and NOT ONE ERROR so i don't think its hardware related..
I need Win98SE installed for a LAN thing im going to and I have a Radeon so Win2k perf. isnt that good so dont suggest just going WIn2k cause i dont want to..

Well it sounds to me like it can ONLY be hardware. Install Win98SE with only your video card installed. If you get the error still, go into your BIOS and turn every advanced feature off.

Is your system overclocked? Maybe win2k is more tolerant or something with the stability. I got that message everytime with the endless cycle when I had my Tbird @ 1.4ghz without enough voltage. Kept bumping it up till it stopped saying it. Turned out it wasn't stable anyway but at least it got past that.

Although your system might not even be o/c'ed and is a different problem.

Oh yeah, in what games or programs is win2k performance bad? Personally, win2k on my Radeon is just as good as in win98 but I guess it depends the games.

Try updateing the OS before you install your drivers Took me 4 clean installs to figure out the obvious and get win 98 working great on my system I installed my 4-1 drivers first configured my networking card got internet explorer rolling updated all the patches restarted and installed all the rest of my drivers everything went perfectly smooth after that!!!! Are you installing the original drivers for you hardware???? See i think because i was installing the newest drivers for all my hardware they were designed for the patches on the os to be installed !! hopefully it will help it worked for me !!!!
