problem with win xp remote desktop

i guess my original post got deleted or something...i didn't get a chance to read any reply so sorry if this is a repeat....my problem is that everytime i use remote desktop with winxp pro to remotely control my computer from work, the program always crashes on me...my friends uses the same thing but there's don't crash, can someone give me like a list of possible problems.....or if anyone know a similiar program like remote desktop that i can access my computer remotely via web browswer...thanks...here r the specs of my comp and connection

dual athlon mp 2200+
512 registered ram
lots of hard drive space
geforce 4 4200 msi video card

dsl connection
1.544 mbps download
384 kpbs upload

using windows xp pro on my computer and remote computer at work

it crashes sometimes when im connecting, sometimes after it's connection, sometimes before it's connected...and im not sure if this might have anything to do with it but on my comp at home it's always downloading or somewhat downloading....so im not sure how much that would affect it...so please help..thanks
