problem with win xp remote desktop

everytime i try to log into my computer from a remote source it always crashes on me...i formatted it...and it still does it...yea i know the one that comes with win xp sucks big time...but im too lazy to install other remote desktop software....so please if anyone has similiar problems please let me know...or if u know another similiar remote software like remote desktop...then tell me..i've been trying to use remotely anywhere...it works but when i do total access of my comp from a remote source..it doesn't crash the software like the remote desktop in xp...instead it crashes my comp and reboots it...so please help if u can...thanks....my system is

2 athlon mp 2200
geforce 4 4200 128
512 ram
win xp pro
dsl 1.5 mbps
enuf hd space
yadda yadda
