I have an older computer I want to use as an HTPC. It is based around an MSI K7T266 Pro2 MB. I want to use a mouse only (no keyboard) and I would like to turn the computer ON with a mouse click (I do the same on my main PC). I have turned on the BIOS option for PS/2 wake-up and changed the corresponding jumper on the MB.
Now here what I'm experiencing :
If I turn the computer on with the power button on the case and then turn it off before windows is booted, I can turn it back on again with a mouse click (what I want).
BUT, if I boot into Windows and shut it down via start menu, I CAN'T turn it back on again.
The weird thing is, I tried with a keyboard and it works perfectly.
How is a Windows shutdown different than a power button turn off (it is configured as ON/OFF, not suspend)
Any ideas?
