problem with volcano 7+ on P4

Hi guys, I just got a volcano 7+ today and when I install it, it doesnt fit down in the retention piece inside of the white pegs that hold it on the mobo and therefore doesnt touch the cpu. I followed the instructions right and even looked at them on their site to make sure I was doing it right. I tried with the clips on one side, then flipped them around and still nothing. If I take the clips off and shimmie it around, it will touch, but when I put them back on, it wont.

I know its not touching because there is no AS on the bottom of the HS after securing it down and my pc boots up and says my cpu temp is 60C.

I was thinking I might have to file down the sides a little to get it to fit.

anyone else heard of this problem? should I send it back instead?

Somebody throw this poor guy a bone (told him he shoulda bought an AMD processor and this problem never woulda happened... 😉 )

Seriously, anyone have any thoughts?
