Problem with VIA 4-in-1 drivers

I just got a MSI k7t266 and installed the latest via 4-in-1 drivers (4.29) and when windows comes up, it says that it needs a driver for the pci to isa bridge. I can not find it anywhere, so I click cancel and I think it just bypasses it. This MB doesnt even have isa slots. Am I missing something here? This is my first MB with a via chipset, so this is new to me. Thanks for any help.

MSI k7t266
athlon 1gz @ 1.267ghz
Geforce2 mx
SB live!

Also, I had this strange thing happen 2 times today and thought I would throw it out also. In Counter Strike, I would get this brief flurry of HDD action and I would see the mouse cursor from windows on my screen for a split second, then the mouse would start working as if it was in windows. It made my sensitivity really low. Windows acceleration was on so when I moved my mouse real slow the CS screen wouldnt even move. Gotta get that to stop. Thanks.

go to device manager and see if there is a yellow flag next to anything. if there is remove it. Then install the via 4.29 drivers again.

Nope. Everything shows fine in Device Manager. I also have no listing for a 'pci to isa bridge'. Very odd. Not that I would expect one actually, since I have no ISA slots. Other than the mouse problem in CS, everything seems to be running fine. I have installed the via drivers more than once.

No offense but the MSI boards for AMD chips aren't very good, imho, for any gamer or tweaker. I wish you hadn't had to find that out the hard way :(.

Well that is hog wash see my specs, btw rock stable, anyway Nemi I had the same problem with with the 4.29 drivers ,let Windows do a search it will find them, everytime I pointed to the directory where they were it could not find them so when I rebooted it kept asking for them so in the end I let Windows do the search & it found them "weird",anyway I think it`s in the inf file of the 4 in 1 drivers.I don`t have ISA either but it likes to have the driver info.

:)

Nice opinion, got any facts to back it up?

It's my understanding that some onboard components use the PCI to ISA connection. PS/2 Mice & Keyboard, at least, I think.

Don't forget that whenever you install or re-install any version of the VIA 4in1 drivers, you will need to re-install your vid card drivers.
I recently discovered this when I lost 2000 points on my 3DMark 2000 score after updating VIA 4in1 drivers, when I re-installed my Voodoo drivers, bang, back up there.

Where did you get that from? what board has more overclocking options? the Abit board is crap, the ASUS A7V doesnt even have jumperless settings for multiplier, and the Gigabyte doesnt even have overclocking options. However my MSI has been rock stable with my duron 700@945. I am a tweaker and this board is more tweakable than most, i am also a gamer and this board is rock solid.
