Problem with TV card

I used to be able to connect my DVD player (the kind you connect to a TV) to my TV card and watch via AV cable. Now when I connect it, all I get is black screen. The DVD player still works on a regular TV and the TV card still shows TV channels. Is there a setting on windows or the bios that I can check to see if anything's been changed.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers. I have even gone to the site to check for other drivers.

And yes, I checked the cables.

I suppose you should try hooking up another source - vcr, game console, cable box - and see if the problem persists.

If it's internal, you could try re-seating the TV card. Or using a different PCI slot.

If it's external, try another USB port.
