I had installed this game previously on my Socket 7 system, and had only gotten the game to work after installing DirectX 8 and the BETA nVidia 6.47 drivers. Before upgrading my system, I removed the game, and did not format my HDD.
I have since updated to a Duron 800 system, with the same installation of Windows 98SE. The operating system works perfectly, and so do my other games like Need For Speed: High Stakes. TOCA 2 doesn't. I do a Normal install. After installed, when I click on the icon, the two start up screens proceed, I press enter....after a while a blank white screen appears, and the HD light stays on - nothing loads from the CD-ROM. System is frozen.
I have installed the Patch too.
This game has been the most troublesome that I have ever owned. On a previous system when I had a Intel i740, I would also experience rendom lockups (the game was meant to support it too), but I had no problems with other games.
Then, when I got the TNT2 the game refused to work at all - untill I got the 6.47 drivers.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
