Problem with the forums?

It is very strange but when I go to a page the back button of IE 6 does not wotk. I need to press it twice or several times for it to actualy work. And sometimes when I go back, something happens and I loose the forward capability.

I have never expirienced this beffore on my system or any other system. My guess is that the ads or something on the page is refreshing constantly but with the same page causing bultible entries in the history.

I dissabled metta refresh and the same problem still occurs. Is this smothing new with the forums, and is there any way to stop it from happening as the forums are becoming unavigaatable for me. I press a button and nothing happens, what is going on?

Did you edit your HOSTS file to block ads?

The system I am on has no host file as far as I know of. It is a public lab computer, but I had no problems yesturday or several hours ago. Also my system has a host file with no such broblems. How does the hosts file afect this?

What some people do is edit their hosts file so that common ad servers (like ads.doubleclick.com) point to the computers internal ip address. When doing this, instead of an ad, they get a 404 error where the ad should be. When you hit back once, it tires to reload the ad banner as opposed to taking you back in your broswers history.

If you're seeing 404 pages where the banner ads are supposed to be, then the pc is probably using a modified hosts file to block ads. In that case, use the drop-down box by the back button to move back through the forums (or click the back button twice quickly for one ad, three times for two ads, etc).

i get the same exact problem. it's really annoying. i just resort to using the forum's links.

It only happens to me when I'm using the Search function - I get the page of links, click one, then hit back, and I'm at a blank page about 40% of the time. I usually open a new window anyway when opening threads, but sometimes I forget.
And wow, must be backup time or a traffic jam at the servers right now - on the subscriber server, and it's sluggish.

Same here. When I do a search, click on a thread and then try to go back to my search results the page is blank. If I hit refresh and click yes, it will come back up. Weird and annoying.
