I'm having a huge problem with Sprint. Last summer I ordered a cell phone from sprintpcs.com. It came with an $80 instant rebate. The deal was widely advertised on their website, even on hot deals websites. I bought the phone and my credit card was charged the correct amount. However, a month or so later, I get a bill from Sprint for the rebate. I just ignored it since I thought it was a mistake and all my calls to them basically resulted in hours of being transferred around. Since then I've moved (to Boston), however they've been calling my previous residence (in Alabama) constantly. I've been told that they refuse to take my new phone number to call me at, try to obtain information such as my social security number, etc. They constantly say that the supervisor is out. A collection agency also sent a letter to my previous residence, I got it, and sent them a letter (overnighted it) stating that I'm contesting it (the letter said to do this). I included my new contact info in this letter, but they never contacted me. They're still contacting my previous residence constantly.
Anyone know of anything I can do? Any complains to file to federal agencies (which agencies?), consumer groups or anything to contact? I'm hoping I can contact some agency and get them to contact Sprint and give me a real person with a direct phone number to talk to.
