Problem with Sound

My hard drive recently crashed.

So since I'll be updating to C2D within a few months, I figured I'd get a Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 SATAII drive and a SATA controller card (with an extra IDE on it since most C2D boards I've seen only have one)

So I've installed the card and drive, both are working fine.

But when the hard drive is accessed the sound from my Audigy 2 ZS starts popping and crackling.

The Sound card is next to the controller card on the board and they have IRQs 16 and 17.

Will moving them apart help? If not, is there anything I can do to remedy the situation?

Motherboard is a DFI Nforce2 board

might be some sort of electrical interference. Try putting the sound card on the lowest PCI slot (as TBD said, as far away from everything else) and see if that helps.
