Just set up my new SLK 947U on my ABIT NF7-S ver2.0. It didnt fit, so i had to force it to fit by coaxing one of the tall capacitors to bend slightly. However, Im not sure if the "black metal plate" is flat because of this damn Capacitor. My system temp is 24C while my idle is 34.5C and Load is 37C. Im not sure if the heatsink is in full contact with the die. Prior to this, I had a Coolermaster Aero 7+ running at medium rpm giving me these temps when my processor was OCed to 11x200fsb @ 1.75V.

I have a 92mm Enermax variable speed (manual) fan running at medium rpms on the SLK 947U. The processor is a Tbred-B 1800+ DLT3C. Right now, i am running at default speed, and voltage (11.5x133@1.5V).

I can bring the heatsink to work on friday and use a milling machine to cut off a piece of the SLK 947U's black socket plate, but i dont want to if i dont need to.

Btw, im using artic alumina. I really dont care for high quality thermal goop because it doesnt really help much. Was using type 44 before.

comments, opinions?

That seems fine. I got my SLK947-U in the mail today I tried putting it on and it would fit but barely... Just to be safe I took it to my bench grinder downstairs and made sure it would fit ok...

So you have infact, cut away some of the material of the heatsink near the capacitors? Any problems thus far?
