Problem with Settings and File Transfer Wizard

Trying to move just my XP settings from one computer to another. I use the Wizard on the "old" computer to save the settings to a file on my external HDD. I open the Wizard on the "new" computer, select "I don't need the Wizard disk, I have already collected my settings from the old computer". In the box "Where are the files and settings?" I chose "Other, a removeable drive or network drive", browse to my Backup Drive, select the folder that the settings are saved in, and Next. Then, I get the message
"The location you specifid does not contain stored information. Please type in a valid folder path...bla, bla, bla". When I look in My Computer, navigate to the folder, and double click it, it shows the two files, one is a 9320kb DAT file, the other a 1kb File.

Any ideas?
Thanks
