Problem with recently installed MCE 2005

I just built an HTPC and installed Microsoft MCE 2005, but I don't see any differences between this OS and regular 'ol XP! Ther eis no "Media Center" option in the Start menu, nor does a Search for "Media Center" on the computer generate any results.

Is this a problem that can be solved without having to reinstall the entire OS (which would totally suck)? The disks were OEM, so didn't come with any instructions other than the basic install instructions.

 
1)Did you use your MCE product key?
2)Did you insert the second disk when prompted and reinsert the first disk when prompted again?
3)Are these legit cds?
