It seems a lot of programs I open, immediately exits out the moment I open it.

Itunes closes the moment I open it. I click on the icon, and then it closes.

I just bought the logitech 3d pro joystick, I inserted the CD...it loaded and a menu popped up..half a second later it closes.

Why is it doing this?

backup data at the very least. try running a virus scan first though before formatting.

formatting should be a last resort :p

How do I backup my data and then reformat? I thought reformatting wipes out your entire hd?

I have a lot of games on my computer but I dont have the CD for them so if I reformat I lose the game.

Is there a way I can prevent this? I would love to reformat, as long as I could backup my games on my existing hd.

Is this possible?

Virus scans arnt working.

Buying games does help with that problem, ya know...
If you have a burner, burn your data to DVD/CD, whatever you want saved.

Are you overclocking? If so, maybe it's unstable.

You have given us literally no info on your problems, what you think may have caused them, etc...so i am too going to recommend you format again...

I bought the game, I just lost the disk and downloaded a no-cd hack.

Is there a way I can designate an area on my HD not to be reformatted?

I cant afford to lose the game because im really low on cash and probably couldnt buy another version.
