I burned dozens of DVD-r with this burner, and never had problems. I have not changed media (Accu 1x), and have not changed anything I know of on my computer. I have a Dell 2.66 with a Gig of DDR2700. I have changed the firmware to the newest version, but I can't pinpoint that as the time everything started messing up, although it's what I suspect.
Every few discs now I get problems, always towards the end of end chapters. There are really bad distortion, pixelation and then it skips portions of chapters.
I have the latest firmware from Pioneer (1.33), and I always restart my computer before ripping and burning, and of course never touch it while it rips or burns. I know it isn't the media because my roommate and I split the spindels, and his are all fine, no exceptions. I am really frustrated because I have sunk a lot of time and money into this and now I am producing useless DVD's. Any suggestion or experiences help, but please don't tell me to get better media, as I have said, that is not the problem here. I googled "a05 problem" and seems other people have experienced this. Thanks.
And a subquestion: How do I revert the firmware to the previous version? Maybe that will help.
