problem with P3-1000/133 FC-PGA install

I installed the above cpu in my computer and now I can't get it to boot up. I have a BF6 mobo, and I was under the impression that it would support this cpu. Am I wrong? Is that the problem? Just to be more specific, I get no video when I turn it on. I hear the hard drives spinning or whatever, but the mobo just makes a loud, long beep, silence, than another beep, etc. Any ideas? Do I need to change the jumper settings on the slot ket thing?
 
You need to have the jumpers set for the CPU correctly, yes.

The other thing to worry about is the AGP clock rate. Can your video post at 89MHz?
