Hey guys, I'm new to this board... well actually, I've been reading it for about a month now but this is my first time posting. You guys helped me alot while I was choosing my choice of motherboard and cpu on this board. And for that I would like to thank you all. I'm having a problem though. I decided to hold off on purchasing a sound card for this new computer because it has one built in. Since alot of you guys own this motherboard, I wanted to know if your experiencing the same problems. I installed all the drivers and have the sound working. The problem is, after an extended time of playing sound whether it be an MP3 or a game of Counterstrike, the sound goes out and all I hear is a high pitched tone coming from the speakers. The only way to resolve it is to do a reset. Does anyone know if MSI has a fix for this or is it something else I overlooked? Here is my current setup:

MSI K7T Pro2a motherboard
1Ghz AMD Thunderbird (not OCed)
128 megs Micron RAM (CAS 2)
Creative Geforce 2 GTS
45Gig IBM GXP (2 partitions)
Realtek NIC
Plextor 8x4x32
Antec SX830 Case

Any help would be appreciated. You guys are the best!
Thanks!

You've probably already tried this but how about removing the "sound card" in windows then reboot and re-install the drivers(?).

Microstar's site does not list any sound issues in it's 63 series FAQ.

I can't think of why it would be the speakers fault, but you could always try them on another PC.

bump for you anyway. :(

I've been having problems with this too, only it doesn't take an extended period of time with it, just a few minutes. And that high-pitched noise is extremely irritating! If you come up with a solution, please let me know
