Problem with NVIDIA onboard LAN settings

Hi so I just recently bought the Chaintech NVIDA nForce4 Ultra mobo and everything works great. The problem is actually with some settings I can't figure out for my new computer.

First I'm in college living on campus and typically to connect for the first time you have to register on a website that pops up automatically. That didn't happen so I tried releasing and renewing my IP which usually does the trick. However after releasing it the renew just timed out and said it couldn't connect.

Any ideas what could be causing the problem? Thanks for any help and if you need more information I can provide it per request.

Thanks again!

You can try to ping yahoo. Go to a command prompt Start, Run, CMD, enter. Then type in ' ping 216.109.112.135' This will tell you if you are connected to the net. Also, type in ipconfig and see what happens.
