Hi there guys i am stuck with the problem. I wanna activate cuda for video conversion in xilliosoft after googling i manage to activate cuda. But the problem is when i activate cuda and start conversion, gpu stays idle so don't know what the hell is wrong. It doesn't seem to use gpu. Anyone know how to properly activate cuda?

I have Asus ROG G750JS/ gtx870m

You can only convert into h264 with cuda so be sure that output is set to this.

For some weird reason, nVIDIA has disabled support for CUDA in their latest drivers from version 340.xx onwards!

Don't worry, all you need to download is nVIDIA Cuda DLL files from the below link (Taken from driver version 337.94), extract the folders and copy them to your C:\Windows directory

After you copy them to the above directory, simply reboot and your CUDA will be working. You can test it with any Video converter that supports GPU acceleration for conversion of video files.

that smiley tho

How i should i know if its working.. it appears active in my case but gpu doesnt seems to be underload during xilliosoft video conversion.

and in case of any video convertor when i choose nvidia cuda, the output is choppy and real bad which tells me something is not right here..

Well once CUDA is there you should notice the conversion finish much faster. In the above example, we notice that there was no CUDA before copying those files but after copying the files and rebooting the CUDA option became active.

Make sure you are copying both files to their respective folders then reboot.

And also make sure you are not using the latest crappy drivers from cRapVidia because they throttle the GPU a lot so use Drivers 345.20 for the best performance with no throttling.

How should i downgrade my driver? Is there a proper method for that?

1) Download Display Driver Uninstaller

2) Run it to have it extract the files

3) Right click on the EXE and choose run as administrator

4) when prompted to reboot into safe mode, choose yes

5) after you are in safe mode, ensure that the nVIDIA is selected from the drop down list then choose clean and restart

6) install driver 345.20 (on the nVIDIA Drivers page, at the bottom you should find a link to beta and older drivers, you will find i there)

7) run the installer and ensure to select CUSTOM, then do not install the 3d vision driver if you don't use 3d, and ensure to tick / check the box which says clean installation

8) let the driver installation finish then reboot

9) copy the CUDA folders which contain the CUDA files to the Windows directory

10) reboot

1) because they want to play God like Microsoft who know decides which drivers you will use. Even if you had all your drivers installed, if you have Windows updates it will automatically update your drivers to non OEM drivers that may or may not break some functionalities / optimizations. but that's a diff. topic. What I'm trying to say is, they have this new technology (forgot its name) that they want to replace CUDA with. The sad thing is, it's been a year now and no player / converter supports that new useless gimmick. It's only CUDA!

2) Take a look at the new driver, driver after another, crippled performance due to huge throttling by 20-30% of the GPU clock speeds:

GeForce Drivers 353.30
