I have a circa 2016 Gigabyte Z170 build which has been very solid over the years. My Samsung 1GB NVME m.2 boot drive has filled up and I am trying to replace it with a 2GB Samsung EVO 970. The original drive was a MBR drive. I used Acronis Clone disk on automatic (will only clone MBR to MBR) and successfully cloned the drive. When I boot it cannot find the new drive/operating system. When I go into the bios, the boot disk is generic disk and in the BBS priorities at the bottom of the list of disks is my 970 NVME but as I click on it it never seems to get selected. The CSM support is enabled , Windows 8/10 is selected Storage boot is Legacy , Other PCI device is Legacy . Fast Boot is disabled.
If I go to the save page it asks if I want to use a one time alternate boot and if I choose the New disk it successfully boots into Windows 10.
When I put my old NVME disk in it gets chosen and boots.
Any help appreciated
Steve
