Problem with new computer build

I bought the following components for my dad's computer, but didn't get a chance to build it until nearly 6 months later. These are the parts:

MSI A55M-P33 mATX Motherboard
A8-3870K
OCZ B series ModStream 550W
Corsair XMS3 4GB RAM

I put these together inside an old Dell dimension computer case, and I took out my dad's current hard drive to test it. After hitting the power button, the PSU spun up, the HDD spun up, but nothing showed on screen, the monitor went into power save mode (VGA connection). I then tried it without the HDD and something along the lines of these showed up:

Wierd text, strange colours, no BIOS boot. So I'm guessing its a corrupted BIOS. Is there any way to reflash the BIOS on this motherboard?

I tried:
Replacing the CR2032 battery
Switching DIMM slots
Switching SATA HDD cable positions on mobo
Different screens
VGA/DVI cables
The HDD is a SATA2 with Windows XP currently installed.

If you're sure you have good ATX 4-pin and ATX 24-pin power connections, in addition to the diagnostics you've already performed, I would tend to agree that the BIOS may be corrupt or some other component on the mobo has failed. If you Google "MSI A55M-P33 bios chip replacement", you'll find an Ebay store called BIOS Depot that'll sell you a new, preprogrammed chip. The problem is that the chip appears to be soldered rather than socketed, so you would need the the requisite tools and skills to replace it, and if it's not the chip you'll be back to square one. On the other hand, since MSI motherboards manufactured from Jan. 01 2010 are warranted for three years, I'd suggest you open an RMA and simply get the mobo replaced.

where was that motherboard stored.and did you try with another PSU

The motherboard was stored in an anti static bag inside my closet.

EDIT: It was a RAM problem. I swapped out one of my 2 sticks of ADATA and it boots. XP doesn't boot as it comes up with an error message, but I'm fairly sure it will be fine.
