I bought the following components for my dad's computer, but didn't get a chance to build it until nearly 6 months later. These are the parts:
MSI A55M-P33 mATX Motherboard
A8-3870K
OCZ B series ModStream 550W
Corsair XMS3 4GB RAM
I put these together inside an old Dell dimension computer case, and I took out my dad's current hard drive to test it. After hitting the power button, the PSU spun up, the HDD spun up, but nothing showed on screen, the monitor went into power save mode (VGA connection). I then tried it without the HDD and something along the lines of these showed up:
Wierd text, strange colours, no BIOS boot. So I'm guessing its a corrupted BIOS. Is there any way to reflash the BIOS on this motherboard?
I tried:
Replacing the CR2032 battery
Switching DIMM slots
Switching SATA HDD cable positions on mobo
Different screens
VGA/DVI cables
The HDD is a SATA2 with Windows XP currently installed.
