Problem with my Trinitron monitor...blurred edges?

I just picked up a refurbished Dell UltraScan P991 yesterday.
Right when I turned it on I noticed that the corners of the screen looked slightly blurred compared to the rest of the screen. It's not super blurry, but enough that I noticed it...eg. my ICQ icon in the bottom corner doesn't look very sharp.
I've tried adjusting the brightness, contrast, convergence etc but it remains the same.

The specs for the monitor say it has a .24 dot pitch in the centre, and .25dp around the edges...could this have anything to do with it?
Are there anymore tweaks I can do, or is this the sign of a damaged monitor?

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

In my experince all CRTs have thier quirks. Most "flat-screen" CRTs I've seen had a slight bluryness in the corners and small convergence problems (the 3 electron guns don't perfectly line up at the corners so colors are off)

Try the degauss on your monitor settings if you have it. Don't do this often as it's hard on your monitor, but it will refresh and often eliminates problems similar to what it sounds like your experiencing.

On further inspection, I've noticed little wavey lines in the corner of my screen. Kind of like the ones you'd see with low refresh rates, but very small and isolated to one area.
Anyone have any idea what's going on?

BKR, I tried your suggestion of degaussing, but it didn't help. Thanks anyways.

Hossenfeffer, it's got a 2 month warranty so I can take it back no problem. Just wanted to see if it's an actual default first.
