problem with my NIC

My realtek ethernet card was working fine last night, but today I can't get any response. I've tried using different cables, and using a different port. I'm on a University networ and all my roommates connections are working fine. The LED on the card is on...but its not blinking and someone told me that it is supposed to be blinking if it is transferring data. Device manaager says its working properly. Any ideas, suggestions?

you try the release and renew commands? in winipcfg and or ipconfig?

you try blowing away the adapter in device manager and reloading it?

you try reinstalling TCP/IP in network neighborhood?

does you campus network run statically or DHCP?

Sorry but I only understood the part about removing the card from device manager and refreshing it.

I reinstalled another NIC that my friend had left over. Its not working either though. I ran the DIAG for the new card and it recognized the card but said it couldn't find a network connection. I also ran this ping 27.0.1 thing that a guy recomended me to do and it sent and recieved packets...so I guess its my network settings?😕
