Problem with my monitor-graphics card... please read...

I have the following problem. I always have a screen saver on and also i have highlinted the option for the monitor to go into sleep mode after half hour. The problem is that when i move the mouse to get back to my work (after the half hour has passed) and the monitor turns on again, i dont see my desktop but a somekind of a distored screen with tons of colourfull lines. This only happens when i put my monitor into sleep mode, other than that i have no problems or crashes. My video card is a GF2MX 400 and (again) i have no other problems with it in any way.... Sooo.. .any suggestions???
 
What sort of screensaver? Have you tried(screensaver) setting it to go blank,also install the latest monitor drivers as well may help.
 
might be the screen saver crashing while the monitor is in standby mode. Try what Mem said above, set the screensaver to blank, if it works from then on the screen save is/might be to blame, might be other things like graphics card drivers.
