Problem with my laser printer

dabuddha

Lifer
I just got my new laser printer and it's working fine except one minor issue. When I turn it on, my floor lamp in my office and my bedroom dim for a split second every 15 seconds.
Since I'm renting this place, I can't really make any modifications to the wiring in the house.
Would hooking up my laser printer to a UPS with a voltage regulator fix my problem?

You are not suppose to hook Laser Printers up to UPS's. Not that it won't work its just that they draw alot more juice then a computer or server and would probably do damage to the UPS. Now saying all that if you had a big enough UPS it would probably be ok but for the cost of those I wouldn't want to take the chance of messing it up.

doh! Thanks for the warning. Any suggestions for my problem?

Maybe try putting it on a different circuit then your lamp, like Rumptis said they draw allot of power. The fuser needs to warm to about 400 Fahrenheit for printing. Not sure why it?s happening so frequently.😕
