Problem with my HDD

Hi all,

I have a Seagate HDD (IDE port) 10GB on my OLD PC. one of the Pin in that hard disk is broken. So, the HDD is not working on that PC. It is not deducted in Windows OS.

Do I need to throw my HDD? or is there any way to repair it?

One of my friend told me that there is no way to repair it. I need to buy a new one. So I thought I can ask here. so, I will find the better solution to my problem.

you can try to stick a conductive material (tiny item like a staple) in the ide cable hole of the one pin that broke off and hope it will go far enough and make contact

I fixed my valve body using this trick so I cant see why it wont work with a hd
