Problem with my Dwarf Everbearing Mulberry Sapling

So wife got her bday present and was a Dwarf Mulberry Sapling. it was lookign fine when we got it through an online nursery two month ago. We potted it in a 5 gal fabric container. Used regualr potting mix and some chicken manure. Deep water once a week. Its been sitting in the back patio since Texas sun some times is a bit too mich for small trees that is growing.

However, since mid April, we have noticed some of the leaves are turning brownish.. or black at the edge. A little curling too. If its fungual, it should have affected all of the leaves. maybe too much water? Not enough sun? need more fertilizer? The bottom leaves are fine though.

Heat, that includes radiant heat from sun-exposed pavement or wall. yes those tips look scorched.

Remember whatever leaves were already open when you purchased the plant had developed in a different enviro so sometimes its just the abrupt change that adds to the problem. How do the new leaves look?

After removing hte old leaves and gave it a little more water (twice a week), it got better and new leaves are coming out.

It was weird that it was never under direct sun (semi-shaded all the time as it's a covered patio and temperature has been below 90s for the last month or so.. except this week), so still don't know what might have caused the leaves to scorched.

Young leaves are fragile, it doesn't take much, and the damage shows up immediately. On small plants it is generally best not to remove leaves for purely cosmetic reasons. Even a compromised solar panel is better than no panel.

It's good to have a watering schedule, but base that on checking the soil with your finger. Second to that is noticing any slight dullness of the leaf which shows up when a plant is experiencing moisture stress, which can happen even when there is adequate soil moisture.
