For some reason When I go into my device manager, it says I'm in compatibility mode, and it's decreasing the performance of my system. Why is it doing that? The only problem that I know of is that My Primary IDE Contoller (Dual FIFO) is tnot being detected properly. Could that be the problem? If it is, how can I fix it?

That's exactly right. I have fought this in many a pc. I would start by checking for updated motherboard drivers for your motherboard, probably the best shot would be the pc manufacturer.

I have had a small amount of success by deleting the IDE controllers from the device manager and letting it redetect on restart. Usually when it works it takes several times of trying. Good luck.:)
