Problem with motherboard or video card

Hi there,

I have an ASUS A8N-Sli Deluxe motherboard and a PCI-E ATI X800 video card. Yesterday evening I went to bed and left my computer turned on. Today when I woke up, the computer looked like as if it was turned off. So I hit the power button and nothing happened, as if the power cord was unplugged. Only the motherboard green led was on. After some time trying to figure out what was going on (the power supply is ok), I noticed that if I removed the video card the computer turned on again.

Any ideas? Is my motherboard or my video card screwed?

Thanks in advance!

With my video card, the computer does not turn on. Nothing happens.
With another video card, the computer turns on but that is it. No beeps, nothing.

Help!

Ok, so that other video card you tested, does it work fine in another computer? Does the original video card work in another computer? If yes then your motherboard is not working right.

It sounds like its the motherboard or possibly the power supply that crapped out on you, but until you can test the video card in a working PC you won't know for sure.

It used to work, now. After testing my video card with another computer, this computer now has the same problem as mine. Could my card be damaging motherboards it's attached to?
