Problem with Linksys 8 port switch

I recently bought an 8 port 10/100 linksys switch to expand my network. it's connected to a router. The problem I'm having is the PC connected to the switch will lose connection (but no little pop ups that says network cable is unplugged) once in awhile, even when the switch's lights remain on. If I unplug the power cable of the switch and plug it back in after a few seconds, then the connection comes back.

Is this a problem with the switch, cabling problem, or problem with this pc?

Uh... yes?

Try it with another PC or NIC -- if the problem persists, then it's the switch or cables.

Try different cables (switch-to-pc and switch-to-router) -- if the problem persists, then it's the switch.

Try a different switch -- if the problem persists you're screwed.

had the exact same problem with a client, bad switch, linksys replaced it
