Problem with lcd screen

I have a 15' LCD Monitor that will not power on. iiyama model ax3815u. can i use a regular power cord to turn it on.

I hope you dont do any gaming, with that lcd. how much did you pay for it? were did you buy? i have heard of having to buy DVI plugs but never power plugs for the lcd.

are you going to play games on it? because honestly if you are i would sell it and get a crt or spend some more money on a better lcd.
