problem with large threads

In very large threads (here is an example: http://forums.anandtech.com/arcmessageview.cfm?start=1&catid=39&threadid=228108). Some of the navigation links at the bottom of the screen don't work. If you click on any of the numbers greater than 98, you get a page with no messages. All of the links at the top of the page do work, though. If you look, the links at the top and the bottom refer to different pages. (IE link 100 at the top and link 100 at the bottom refer to different pages, with the link on top working and the link on the bottom not working.)

I have seen this with several large threads, it isn't just this one. I don't know if it is a problem with anything other than the default of 20 messages per page.

We are going to put in a limit of how many messages can be in a thread. Since, people like to abuse it then we will cap it. If it keeps up permanent bans will come into effect.

I have seen good topics with more than 250 posts. Maybe a limit of 500 is better.

Zuni,

Even if you limit the # of posts in a thread, the bug is still there. The start number when you use the bottom navigation links is different than the top navigation links. I saw the same problem that I just described in a topic with 121 posts.
