problem with laptop ram

I have a presao V2000 with a stock 256 pc2700. I manage to obtain from another member for another 256 pc2700. The two ram look identical, he might pull it from another presario model. anyway when i do the system properties it only show up 384?
when i used each ram individually, each show up as 224? anyone know why?

maybe the integrated graphics takes up 64mb everytime you add more memory?

thats what it probly is go to your bios there should be a setting for it to use less
