I seem to be having an issue with getting DMA working under Win2k on my Secondary channel on this board when I have cdroms attached to it. Here are my system specs:
MSI K7T PRO2 RU BIOS VER. 3.1
ATHLONXP 1800+
3X256 GENERIC REGISTERED ECC DIMMS(SAMSUNG CHIPS)
2X40GB IBM GXP *STRIPE*
1 60GB IBM DTLA ON PRIMARY MASTER
1 76GB IBM DTLA ON PRIMARY SLAVE
1 TOSHIBA 12X DVD ON SECONDARY MASTER
1 MISTUMI 16/8/40 ON SECONDARY SLAVE
GEFORCE2 GTS 32MB DDR
D-LINK 530TX NIC
SBLIVE VALUE CT4830
So basically even after installing Via 4.35 I cannot get the cdroms to go into dma mode, they stay in PIO mode. My last board had a 686b chipset and i was able to get both cdroms running at DMA by just installing the VIA pci IDE drivers. Are there any other drivers that I need to install? The Harddrives on the primary controller are in Ultra DMA Mode 5, but the cdroms are always at PIO.
