I'm home for Thanksgiving and my dad just put together a brand new home theater setup, specs are as follows:
Sony KDL-46XBR4 46" LCD
Onkyo TX-SR 605 Receiver
Already have iO Digital Cable with a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD Cable Box and DVR
Aperion Intimus 5.1 (Not sure of the exact model #) with S-10 Subwoofer
Everything is all set up, TV looks good and Xbox 360 looks badass. Speakers sound good with all the channels working fine on surround, but the subwoofer is being problematic. My dad hooked up the whole system while I was still at school so I didn't see him do anything but he complained to me before I got home that the subwoofer sounded "muddy". I figured he just hooked it up wrong but after checking out the manuals that came with everything and rechecking all the connections, everything looks like its set up right. I've fiddled with the Phase, Crossover, and Level knobs on the back of the sub but no matter what, the sound is flat and sounds like some dude is farting in my TV room. I know it's not supposed to sound like this and I'm assuming that part of the problem is its positioning (we have a small house and there is really no place for the sub, it's kind of tucked away next to our TV cabinet) but if anyone has any words of wisdom I'm ready. Any help would be appreciated.
