just built my aunt's computer. she has Win XP Pro with Service Pack 1A. but after i install the modem drivers(from the cd), it gives the error modem not responding or something like that(code 10).
just want to make sure that it's not a problem of windows because the computer shop is quite far from my home.

Bgeh I had the exact same modem and I couldn't get it to connect (and when it would I would be at like 9600) and I did searches and even the website is ridiculous. I got so pissed I tossed it away and got the Encore Intel HAM chipset modem for like 2 dollars more at Newegg and I haven't looked back

Though I do remember you are in Malaysia so that might hinder you...but I spent a week seraching for this and you are not the only one with problems....

Odd problem... can you be a bit more specific about the error codes? Does it install the drivers okay or are you doing it manually?

Reason I ask is that a boat-load of those modems go into my repairs and never had a problem yet, apart from idiots who buy them and can't figure out how to click Setup.exe to get the drivers installed... </rant>
Sigh.

Used 4 of those exact modems PCI modems from newegg and they all work fine for the systems I've put them in. No problems whatsoever, all running on WinXP.
