problem with gmail?

I'm not sure if the problem lie with gmail, yahoo, or me. For some reason, sometime, my gmail don't want to take mail from yahoo account. I've has some occasion where a friend tried to sent me mail using a yahoo account but i was unable to recieve anything. I have another friend who forgot here yahoo mail password, so she applied to have a password recovery link sent to her gmail account. Yahoo's system sent the link, but nothing showed up in her gmail. Anyone have similar problem, or can tell me what going on?
