Problem with Forceware and video playback

I just recently formatted my box with a clean copy of windows xp. I installed all the windows updates that are available and the latest version of nvidia forceware. The problem is when I have the drivers installed and I try to play back any video in windows media player the computers slows down so bad that i have to reboot. The video never plays either. I have a geforce 6600 and have never had this problem before. When I use driver cleaner and remove the drivers, video playback is just fine. What gives?

I am also experiencing issues with my 6600 GT manufactured by PixelView. I receive several different error messages in blue-screen format (plus auto reboot) when I play games, log on to Windows and one occasion where I video I was watching on YouTube gave me the same error as games do (I have problems running FEAR, and the video was about FEAR....). Assuming that you have the latest forceware (91.47 I believe) and have done the normal list of fixes (win update, bios upgrade, nforce update), I would speculate that the problem lies in the forceware drivers themselves. Of course, the fact that I run WinXP 64 might throw all that I said out the window (as support for it blows massive chunks).

In the end, I am joing with you in asking for a solution.

I figured it was forceware related as well except for one thing. My computer never did this before. Thats why i figured it might be the new version. But even the older versions cause this to happen. I don't know what is going on.
