problem with firewire when used with an Asus A7V8X mb

when i use a generic firewire card, or the firewire port built on the sound blaster live card, capturing works good, but when i output back the captured video thru the firewire port, the is alot of distortion. I have update to the latest hyperion drivers, latest bios version for the motherboard, still the same. anybody have any ideas? thanks

i have 3 firewire cards, of those 2 are cheapy but the third works great

some cards are not worth the hassle
