Problem with file sharing in Windows XP

My computer is networked with my parents'. Now, I created a user account for them so they can access my stuff, and it works fine, but I can't access their stuff. Their computer doesn't give me a choice to type in anything but locks me into using "Guest" when connecting, yet their network model is set to "classic" and their guest account is disabled. What gives?

Do you have a user account on their machine? I.e. why do you need to set one up on your machine for them, and not set one up on their machine for you?

If you do have a user account, is it the same name as your computer? My laptop couldn't see my desktop when the were both Bill Sullivan as user, but when I changed one to something else ban everything worked.

Check their file sharing options. What is turned on? My machines have no guest account, yet my laptop can see what my desktop has shared and vice versa.

Make sure they are both on the same network (I.e. mine re both on the "Home" network...) The defaul network is MSHOME, I believe.

Enable guest and see if that helps

Same network
They have a "Tania and Andre Lang" created on my PC, but this account does NOT exist on their machine. They just type in the user/pass when connecting to my comp.
On their Machine, they have an account for me and my sis, but when I try to connect to their computer, I can't type a user or pass in. The user selection box is locked in as "Guest". I don't get this. Networking model is set to classic. I'd rather try to fix this without enabling guest, as guest is disabled on both our PC's and it works for them.
