Problem with FDD

Hi - I have just finished building my first computer and am looking for some advice on the FDD of all things. The whole build has gone great apart from the getting the floppy drive to work. I am using a DFI Lanparty UT nf3 250GB. I have double-checked the connections and ran through the BIOS options a dozen times with no luck. When the machine boots the FDD drive LED lights up and stays on. The BIOS sees the drive, but any attempt to use the drive meets with no activity. I have also swapped the drive out with another floppy drive to ensure that it wasn't the FDD. The new FDD has the same symptoms. Does anyone have any thoughts on what could be wrong. Appreciate any advice on this one.
