Problem with external HD

Hey everyone.

To cut a story short - I've been using a friend's computer while looking after his house while he's on holiday, and have been downloading a lot on his connection. The default download location for all the torrents was a folder on his Megadrive (don't know the make or model as it isn't mine, but I doubt it's the problem) - but it doesn't show up on the computer. The torrents are definitely working, as they're downloading, completing, seeding, etc. - but I just can't seem to access this mythical folder. It doesn't show up in searches, and doesn't show up when you simply browse the Megadrive.

If anyone is able to help me out here, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

the megadrive (slang for external hard drive right?) showed up in windows prior to you messing around downloading your stuff and now the drive does not?? BTW is it turned off? does it have a power light on it saying the drive is on? is the one cable connected to the computer? i am confused it sounds like your saying you can't access the drive but you are accessing it now, and that you could access it correctly before?

Perhaps he's hidden the folder?

Go to the root directory on the drive in Windows Explorer.

Then choose /Tools/Folder Options/View/ and select "Show hidden files and folders".
Click "Apply".
Click "Apply to All Folders".
