Problem with ECS n2U400 PLZ HELP!!!

I set this up with an athlon 2500 and install windows xp. Everything goes smoothly and all is well. But now my cd drives will not "auto play" nor will they even detect if a disc is in the drive. I have to physically go to my computer and click on the drive even though it does not show there is a disc there. By clicking it, this shows me whatever is on the cd. Any one know how to fix this? It is really anoying. I have reinstalled XP 3 times already to try to fix it!!! BTW, on a fresh install it works fine, but after I put either my nvidia drivers or install dx will it start to mess up.
