Problem with dual monitors and window settings

I've got a 9800NP with a 19" and 17" CRT that I occasionally run in dual monitor mode. I use Ultramon, but don't really need all the advanced features.

Anyway, I am having problems with applications that remembering the desktop to use. For example, I like to run Winamp on the secondary monitor for ease of use. However, when I don't have the second desktop enabled and start Winamp, 95% of the Winamp player is off the edge of my primary desktop.

How can I force the entire winamp screen back on the primary monitor when the secondary monitor is not enabled? I didn't see any setting in Ultramon that would fix this.

On the same topic, do you guys use any other software other than Ultramon?

If you don't need/use the advanced features of UltraMon, what's wrong with Windows? That's all I use to extend my desktop. Why should I add another memory resident application I don't need?

I think the only "fix" is to either go with two monitors or stick with one. The software is likely "confused" when you continue to switch settings all the time.

I'm doing the dual monitors and also tote my system around to LANs and such (with only single monitors) and I'm pretty sure Ultramon has a profile feature for this. I haven't tested it...but I'd assume going from a dual monitor profile to a single monitor profile might help. Otherwise set some hotkeys for switching the monitor of the application, or as a last resort try changing screen resolutions. I've encountered the same situation but can usually get around it.
