Problem with display settings......

Whenever I start up my computer, I get a error mesaage saying:

Problem with display settings. The adapter type is incorrect or current settings dont work with your hardware.


I have a trident video card with the latest and correct drivers, I;m sure of it.

Has anyone had this problem?

I have also swapped monitors to make sure the monitor wasnt the problem and it's not.

perhaps you need to reseat your vid card, or you need to go back to older drivers, did this problem just occur or has it been going on for a while? do you know when it started, like did you installed any new software or hardware?

What resolution did you set it at? Maybe it's your monitor. You might try going into device manager, resetting your video card to standard vga, rebooting, then go back in and reload the drivers.
