Problem with Denon 789 Receiver

Received it a couple days ago (refurb) and it worked fine up until last night. My tivo is hooked up via component through the receiver, and all of a sudden while i was watching TV, I was having intermittent loss of signal issues. Eventually, the video signal never came back. I tried powering up my other items which are also hooked up via component through the receiver... no video output. Tried swapping component cables, hard resetting the unit, no dice. HDMI, on the other hand, works OK as of this moment.

I'd rather not deal with shipping the A/V (on my dime) to a denon service facility, after hearing the horror stories, and also that I'd be without the receiver for at least a couple of weeks. That said, does this sound like an issue that can become progressively worse over time (spread to HDMI eventually?). Most of my peripherals have HDMI so I have enough connections through that and the component connections on the TV to work around the issue. Since my unit is a refurb, it only has a 90 day warranty, so I keep going back and forth on whether or not to send it in. What would you do AT?

Thanks

I would try to get a replacement. Where did you get it from? Is it possible to deal with them to get a replacement rather than through Denon?

I purchased it through Dakmart. I've contacted them and am awaiting a response, although knowing them I'll have to ship it back on my dime as well. I'll probably just suck it up and go without a receiver for a few weeks.

If Denon has a warranty service place in your area then you can just take it there rather than having to pay to ship it somewhere.
