Problem with Dell Inspiron 6000

When I'm using my laptop, typing a paper or even this post the cursor will jump around, sometimes in the middle of the sentence it jumps to the beginning or in between a word I've already typed. While typing a paper it will go from where I am typing to the middle of the paper or back to the beginning.

Any ideas?
Thanks

It sounds like your wrists are resting on or very near the touchpad and when you press down hard enough with your wrists while typing it is activating the touchpad, which makes the computer think that you want to move the mouse.

Another possibility is that the touchpad is defective or not properly installed so that when you type (causing the computer to shake slightly) it is activating the touchpad.

It is a known problem with that keyboard.
They go bad all the time.

If it is still in warranty, they will replace it.
If not, you can always try getting them to do it anyway.
